belated 50th Anniversary Cruise vacation
   Day 8 --- May 1st, 2018

Tuesday morning we are still at sea, arriving at Lisbon around noon. We booked a bus and tram tour that sounded innocuous but turned out great. The bus portion was OK - point out lots of stuff, stop at a photo op, pay toilets are over there. But then came the tram portion. These "trams" were very similar in appearance and construction to San Francisco cable cars, but were electric and ran from overhead power lines like a trolley. They took us up and down some incredible grades, and very narrow streets in the old part of town. And they served a traditional (for them) cream filled pastry and port wine. We had dinner on the ship but our tablemates opted to find a restaurant on shore. The ship is off for the three day trip to le Havre France.
